Ensembles Workshop
On Saturday 21 March we held the first of our workshops for this year. We’ve been wanting to hold a ‘Playing in small ensembles’ workshop for a while and we finally managed to run one. The attendees were allocated quartets, quintets and one trio. These grouping were changed twice during the day so we got to play with different people. Richard Scholfield Richard Scholfield is an award-winning Scottish saxophonist praised for his "silken" sound (The Scotsman) and engaging stage presence. As a professional saxophonist he has toured Scotland, the UK and more widely in Europe, collaborating with various other musicians and ensembles. Carol Singing Concerts
Our Sax and Sing Xmas Carol event on 6th December made a lovely evening. We held this concert to raise money for the Archie Foundation- specifically for the Aberdeen Children’s Hospital Burns Unit. We were joined by young singers from MJR Vocal Tuition and their coach Matthew Rose who all treated us and the audience to beautiful solo singing and encouraged the audience in carol singing.
